FEBRUARY MIX // NATIVE BUSH

FEBRUARY MIX // NATIVE BUSH

This month we are super excited to welcome Native Bush to the monthly mix series!

Native Bush is the DJ project of Tāmaki Makaurau-based artist Pipiana Hēmi. She will weave you anywhere from sonic and somatic activation to dance floor devotion of high-frequency ass claps and this mix is no exception. Recently, Native Bush has played support for Jayda G at the final Anno Domini event, performed at the first iteration of queer strip night BODYHAUS, and joined Ngāti Kangaru at Melbourne electronic music festival Hybrid.

Pipiana is also one half of multi-disciplinary avant-nesian performance duo Blood Mothers. Together, they explore the instinctual, elemental and hybrid expressions of Pasifik identity and seek to provide a source of indigenous revolt and repossession. We were lucky enough to experience Blood Mothers perform at the Community Garden: Eartheater (NYC) gig just last week and can 100% confirm they stole the show!

Check out the mix ahead of Pipiana's set at the Wellington Museum with Cave Circles later this month!
